Ever since I started on the self-employed route, saving money became one of my primary concerns. Last I checked, my pockets are not bottomless and there is only a limited time I could survive before cashflow becomes positive.
On the wisdom of financial planning, yowchuan maintains a great site at meshio.com. But what if you want to take the art of moneysaving to the next level? To a level few humans dared venture, a level you could point at yourself in the mirror saying “you’re a money saving pro!”.
If you’re a amateur like me, it’s best that we start on the basic necessities of life, and that includes clothing, food, transport, lodging and toilet supplies, plus, what better way to learn than to observe the in-laws(to be)?
When it comes to money saving, cc’s mom is the pro hands down. Here’s one of her tricks I observed.
Buy toilet paper without the core.

When you finished your previous toilet paper roll, save the core, and then roll the core-less toilet paper up yourself.

Not only you save money(in her words, 60 core-less rolls for more than 10 kuai, versus 10 rolls with core for slightly less than 10 kuai), you also contribute to humanity by saving some trees.
Am I missing something? Are these toilet rolls only available in China?
